HOUOU CANDLE
Company Name:HOUOU CANDLE
Company Overview:
With the theme of ‘Healing and Harmony,’ we create small candles infused with a special fragrance inspired by aromatic woods and Japanese roses, using two types of natural plant-based wax (palm and soy) that are gentle on the environment, as well as on breathing and skin.
Purpose of the exhibition:
Following the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, I began exploring ways to contribute to society. Candle making became one of those avenues. Inspired by the soothing effect of the 1/f fluctuation in candle flames, I earned certification as a JCA-certified Candle Artist in February 2018.
This particular piece features the gentle, refreshing sweetness of fragrant wood. It incorporates an incense blend uniquely created for candles by Hitomi Mori, inspired by the motif of Japanese roses. The fragrance is embedded into tea light candles to create a product that offers both aroma and the calming flicker of candlelight, fostering relaxation and contributing to societal well-being.
By showcasing this product at an exhibition in Dubai, a global hub, I aim to extend this sense of harmony and healing beyond Japan to people worldwide.
Products
Tealight candles with the scent of fragrant wood and Japanese roses (crystal palm wax)
Both soy and bamboo charcoal are said to have air-purifying effects. The flickering flame of the candle, with its 1/f fluctuation, along with the gentle and warm light filtered through washi paper, helps to heal the mind and body, creating a relaxing atmosphere. You can also enjoy a refined and soothing fragrance that harmonizes the refreshing sweetness of agarwood with the delicate scent of Japanese roses. During combustion, the candles produce minimal soot, ensuring that your furniture and rooms remain clean. These candles incorporate the aesthetics of Japan in both fragrance and design, harmonizing with nature.
